Thankful Thursday

a few of the things I’m thankful for today, in no particular order-

1. Coffee. Especially on mornings after short nights. (Can I get a amen?!)

2. That my church is unlocked, so I can go hang with Jesus whenever I need some one-on-one time with Him. I know that’s not always the case, even in the various other places I’ve lived.

3. Long conversations with my best friend, who’s there for me when I need her, even from halfway across the country.

4. Laughter. Oh, how laughter makes everything better! (as does coffee, cheese, and flowers)

5. Growing new friendships. It’s been hard being far away from many of the people I’m the closest to, but it’s been so good to make the change from acquaintances to friends with the people we’ve met here.

6. Lovely weather. I think May is my favorite month, mostly because of the weather. I love the sunshine, flowers blooming, green grass, and perfect temperatures, with all the promise of summer yet to come. And, perhaps best of all, the bugs aren’t out in full force yet. Wins all around.

7. Speaking of flowers, my first rose appeared yesterday on one of the bushes in front of the house. I can’t wait to enjoy them all summer.

What are you thankful for today?

Thankful Thursday

So apparently I’ve not written in a long time. I’d like to extend an apology to all my loyal readers. Last week got all kinds of crazy since it was my birthday (!) and we had a lot to do for our trip to Ohio for the Easter weekend- where I spent much more time with family and much less on the inter webs. We had a lovely weekend in which I snapped 0 photos (lucky you) and enjoyed our stay with Joe’s parents. His brother and sister in law came up from Florida, and his sister had just returned from mission work in Zambia (no big deal) so it was a really fun reunion. Aaaaaaand, my immediate family was all in town, and came over to enjoy Easter dinner with us. Laughs, games, and chocolate were plentiful, and good times were had by all. Grace got to bask in the admiration of all her grandparents and aunts and uncles, which gave Joe and I a break from chasing her all weekend, which was oh-so-wonderful. The weekend went way too fast, but we’re so thankful for our time together and we’re all now planning our next trips. Nothing like a planned vacay to Florida as workout motivation, right?

Since we’re mostly recovered from the trip (other than some serious allergy/cold flareups- time will tell which) I’m trying to catch up on all the laundry, blog posts, emails (ha. right) that have been waiting for me.

And for those who have been wondering where my photos for Clare’s 30 day photo project are, well, I got nuthin. Working on catching up there, too. But in the meantime, you can check out what everyone else has been doing.

Happy Thursday, friends. It’s almost the weekend!

Thankful Thursday

Today I’m thankful for my sweet husband who surprised me by getting up early to cook breakfast for all of us, getting Grace up and dressed this morning, and buying our new washing machine. He saved me so much time during the morning craziness and the headache of appliance shopping.

In other news, the pump on the washing machine was fine, but the motor was shot. Awesome. I’m just glad that we now have a solution- we just have to get the old one out and new one in! I’m also thankful for kind friends who offered to let me do laundry in their homes so we don’t run out of clothes. 🙂

What are you thankful for today?
