End of January and Five Favorites

I wrote a whole long post about what’s been happening around here, but was boring myself to tears, so I’ll share a few photos to sum up the last month and we’ll just move right along, okay?

Gemma turned one:
My sister and I threw a bridal shower for our brother’s fiancée:IMG_0350

We went to a wedding:

Joe took Grace and Sophie on a Frozen-themed night at a salon, where they taught dads simple hairstyles to do for their daughters:

We all got snowed in when a blizzard hit, and Grace got a couple of days off from school:

And now for five recent favorites:

My cousin wrote a book! I just got my copy, and I love it. It has a good cadence for reading aloud (something that annoys me when it isn’t done well!) and the illustrations are so cute! Plus, the creatures are in the shape of the letter they represent. It would make a great gift for a boy or girl–my girls loved it.

My sister gave me a planner for Christmas and this planner is everything. The only way so far that I would change it would be to make the cover pretty, because I’m a girl. It has everything (I just heard Stefon in my head as I typed that): pages for goal setting, month, week, and daily pages, inspiring quotes, and more. The 2016 versions are sold out, but you can preorder the 2017 version if you’d like here. Nothing like planning ahead–pun not intended.

Joe gave me a necklace like this, with the girls’ initials, for Christmas. You guys, he went on Etsy all by himself and everything. Anyway, I’ve been wearing it almost every day since.

I meant to share this awhile ago, but in honor of the caucuses the other night, here’s a quiz where you can guess who said it: Donald Trump or Michael Scott.

This soup is easy, quick, and crowd-pleasing. It’s perfect for winter (hello, midwest blizzard!) and my family has loved it each time I’ve made it.

Linking up here, so go forth and check out more favorites with Ashley and co.

Joe doing the girls’ hair is the cutest. I can’t wait until my girls’ hair is long enough!

I also love Gemma’s birthday picture. You have such cute kids!

The girls look so cute and grown up in their dresses and curls! And that salon evening is incredible- Tim should go to one of those. 😉 Also, I can’t wait to do that quiz- I almost find it impossible to believe that Trump has such a following in spite of (because of?) the things he says!!

Wow, I love the whole idea behind the braid – what a sweet idea.
Can’t wait to check out all your links… they all sound intriguing!

Teaching Dads to do girls’ hair? That salon is seriously onto a winner there! 🙂
