It’s been awhile since I’ve stopped by here, so grab a cup of something warm and I’ll get you all caught up on everything happening around here, okay?
Can we take a quick second to appreciate the top photo? My sister had a baby, so naturally we piled the five cousins on a couch for a group photo. I love that you can’t see the new big sister, the crazy faces, the definition of Gemma’s toes in her slightly-small pajamas, and Sophie’s backwards shoes. Not exactly frame-worthy, but hilarious.
I’ve been doing the 21 Day Fix for the last couple of weeks. I like it, but I feel as though it’s taken a lot of energy–physically, to do the workouts every day, and mentally, in trying to plan my meals every day. It’s been a challenge to figure out what is Fix-compatible while also not cooking entirely separate meals for the rest of the family. I’ll be glad when it’s over (only a couple more days!) but could see myself doing it again.
We went to the county fair on the only cool + rainy day, but still had a good time. The kids milked a fake cow, we got all of our favorite treats, and even ran into a couple that I went to middle school with–so random, but fun to see them and their cute little family!
Grace is in soccer now (have I told you that?) and loves it. It’s been fun to see her improve as the season goes on, but we’ve noticed that the only time she really kicks into gear is when one of her teammates has the ball and is about to score. Apparently, Grace takes that as her cue to sprint down the field and steal the ball away so she gets the goal. It looks like we have some work to do.
Joe and I went to my high school reunion. I was surprised that I wanted to go (because Facebook can tell me a lot) but it was really fun to see some old friends who are now settled down now. Plus, one of my besties went, and, since I hadn’t seen her in too many years, that reason alone would have been enough to get me to go anyway.
Sophie earned herself a trip to the ER when she tipped her chair backwards and hit her head. She came away with four staples in the back of her head, which she took like a champ with no anesthesia (and no shaved hair, thankfully). She’s healed now and doing great, and I’m hoping against hope she’ll remember to sit still in her chair so we don’t have any repeats. Fingers crossed.
I mentioned this earlier, but I have a new niece! We’ve had family in and out of town to meet the new little baby (my sister wrote the birth story here) and for her baptism. My girls (and the big sister) all love her already, and it’s going to be so much fun watching them grow up together.
How cute are they??
Okay, I think those are all the highlights (and lowlights, coughSophiecough) for the last couple of weeks! I’ll try to do a better job in posting regularly, but in the meantime, have a happy weekend!
