Summer Lovin’

You guys. I missed this space. We’ve been busy (but not any more than the rest of you!) doing summery things and I just haven’t made this enough of a priority. I’ve been waffling between just having other things on my plate and being too wiped out to blog. I do want to make writing happen more frequently again, so here I am, and here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to.

Grace is in her second week (2 different churches) of vacation Bible school and loving it. Not only is it fun for her, but it also gives my brain a small break from the 2039483209 questions she asks in a day. It’s cute to see her singing the little songs she learns, and to see Sophie watch and learn as well. Unfortunately, the songs are a little too catchy, and I’ve had them stuck in my head for the past two weeks. Send help.

A friend I know through my mom’s group invited a bunch of us out to her acreage for a fun day out, to let the kids run around, jump on the in-ground trampoline, and check out the miniature ponies. Sophie wasn’t sure about them (maybe because they were at her eye level?) but Grace got to comb and ride one and it made her week.

Gemma is learning to army crawl, and her biggest motivation is to go after my toes or her sisters’ toys. Cliche alert: I can’t believe that we’re at this stage with her already!

Sneaky Sophie has been quietly getting into mischief–but isn’t great at covering her tracks. Maybe someone should tell her to clean the peanut butter off her hands before she opens my mail?
IMG_0289She also tested out my mascara, and it was evident that, while she needs to perfect her technique, she has been studying me. I’m just surprised it took until the second kid to get into my makeup.
IMG_0288We’ve also been chipping away at little projects around the house. We’re finally giving some attention to the outside of the house, and we’re refreshing the master bedroom as well. I love how it’s turning out, and can’t wait to share an update soon! I also still have plans for sharing more of the big girls’ room and to personalize Gemma’s room as well in the near future.

Hope your first month of summer has had at least as much sun and s’mores as ours!

Sounds like a great start to summer!
Doesn’t it feel so wonderful to get things accomplished around the house?

Mini ponies sound so fun! And looking forward to the updates. 🙂 We just moved Evie and Audrey in together, so I’m back to moving decor around. Maybe someday I’ll be done!
