Basement Bedroom Reveal

Finally, the long-promised bedroom reveal! I know you’ve all been waiting with bated breath for this update.

The room isn’t 100% completely done, but closet doors, a different chair for the desk, and the headboard for the bed will come eventually. We’re not in a rush for those, so here’s the room as it is currently (and for the foreseeable future).

First, here’s a reminder of what it looked like before we did anything:

We didn’t remember to get a good photo of the room before we really got underway, but this should be a good indication of what we were working with.

A brief recap: new egress window installed to make it a legal bedroom, barn wood and bricks were taken out, fresh drywall, can lights in the ceiling, paint, trim, carpet, and an additional closet were put in.  It feels like a completely different space now, and we love having a nicer room for our guests to stay in.

This is the same corner shown above in the before photo… it looks slightly different now.

Wow, talk about progress! Your guest bedroom looks more put together than our master, haha! And it’s so bright it doesn’t even look like it’s in the basement.

Um, it looks more put together than our master, too. Maybe that should be next? Joe tried convincing me to move in there, but it’s too far from the kids when I have to be up with them in the night.

Although we weren’t the first to stay in the new bedroom, we are staying there now while visiting the family for a week. And having a blast with the family. Grandma and Grampa from Ohio.

When we finally get around to fixing (ie finish letting the kids destroy the original 1979 orange carpet in) the basement I’m taking you up on this.

Okay, but you really want my secret weapon-my mom. She was my general contractor 🙂
