So I was tagged in the Liebsters last week by my friends NicholeEllen, and Molly and am just now getting around to this. Oops. Fun fact: Ellen and I grew up near each other in the great upstate New York, and Molly also lives in my other home state of Iowa.

For the uninformed, the Liebsters are called an award, but I suspect that’s to trick you into being the most excited you’ve ever been to get a chain letter, which is what we’re really doing here. And now to answer the all-important questions:

Where is the farthest you’ve ever traveled? Probably St. Lucia in the West Indies for our honeymoon. I wasn’t one of the lucky kids who got to study in Austria in college, but I’ll get over to Europe someday!

Have you ever won anything? Yes! In third grade I won a book autographed by the author (she came and spoke to my class) and then I won a Blanqi body styler shortly before I got pregnant with Sophie – one of my all-time pregnancy faves.

Who is your favorite saint and why? St. Anthony of Padua is my homeboy. For some reason, he’s always got my back when it comes to finding lost items. Seriously, pretty much every time I ask, I find what I’m looking for instantly. I’m not really sure why he picked me, but I love him.
UnknownPlus, look at him with baby Jesus. I mean, what’s not to love?

What is the most dominant color in your wardrobe? Black? I love a good black tee. But I have a lot more stripes than anything else, just not all the same color. Me + stripes = true love forevah.

What made you crack a smile today? Watching Grace play. Her helicopter (our couch) is loaded up with her play food, toy carseat, and backpack to take to my mom’s house. She’s currently talking on her play phone and her little conversations just kill me.

And now she's moved on to wearing "fancy things"

And now she’s moved on to wearing “fancy things”

Is there a name that you really wanted for one of your kids that had to get nixed? I so love the name Katherine, but in my extended family, we don’t really repeat names, and I already have a cousin named Katherine. It might be different if she was a cousin who lives far away and we never see, but she lives right in my town. My family is huge and eventually we’ll probably start repeating names, but I didn’t really want to be the one to get in trouble for it. 🙂

What’s your least favorite household chore? Probably dusting… which is one reason that it pretty much never gets done.

Why did you start blogging? I have always liked writing when it was for fun (hated papers in college!) and thought it would be a fun way to keep our of town family and friends up on our lives. I don’t post as much on Facebook, and this is also a good alternative to the baby books that everyone always forgets about. It also has been a great way to connect with other friends that I wouldn’t normally have. Staying at home with your kids can be a lonely gig, and it’s hard to have time for phone conversations and keep up old friendships. This is a good alternative for that, at least for this stage in life, and I love the outlet it is for me.

Which TV show is your guilty pleasure? Hmmm… I will always love The Office, but I don’t feel guilty about that one! Maybe How I Met Your Mother? I’ve been watching it mostly to see what happens, even though I’m not crazy about it.

A song that you can’t help singing along to? Counting Stars. The girls and I love when it plays on Pandora.

What job would you do if you do anything? I really love being able to stay at home. I would love to do some editing to get paid for reading, since I love that (and I’m starting to do some freelancing).

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A librarian. I think I’d still have fun with that.

Which blogger would you most want to meet in real life? Oh, so many! This one hurts because so many blog friends will be at the Edel conference in July, too, but I won’t! Hopefully many of them will return the year I get to go!

I’m pretty sure I’m one of the last to get to this, and everyone I’d tag has already been tagged. Better late than never, right? 🙂

I didn’t go to Austria either! I thought I was one of the only ones at FUS who didn’t. 🙂

This was a fun way to get to know you Francine! I didn’t go to Austria since I transferred and Gabe always talks about it as one of the best years of his life….way to rub salt on the wound;)

Francine, Dave didn’t go to Austria either so he always pouts when I reminisce. But the funny thing is, he’s hopped the pond WAY more times that I have because of his job, so I don’t really feel bad for him at all! And woah! You won a blanqui?? I bought one around 20 weeks this pregnancy; the price is steep but it’s been totally worth it! In fact, I wear it every day and I still haven’t washed it… is that gross?

I have way too much black, too! The slimming effect always wins me over.
Edel would be awesome. There was just no way we could make it happen, though. Maybe next year I can find some extra money in the budget.

Seriously, it seems like everyone is going to Edel! I say we host our own Skype chat or something so that we can pretend that we’ve actually met each other 🙂

I love reading & responding to your comments!
